Like whoa...

Okay, so it's been awhile. Longer than awhile. Much longer than awhile. I'm sure y'alls know why I've been skimpy on the updates, but oh well. I was waiting for the word on the new gig this week, but I've heard that word may not show up until next week. Sooo... went to Cavalia for kim's bday. It was pretty much what I expected and that was pretty good. There were a few slow parts with some excessive acrobatics, but the trick riding was cool and the segments when the horses got to do their own thing was really sweet. But the concession prices were freakin' insane..$4 for a 20oz lemonade, $25 for the CD soundtrack, $45 for a coffee table book.

Also managed to go bowling for the first time in ages. 100 and a 168, not too bad if I don't say so myself. Wonder what I could do if I didn't stop all those years ago.

Anyway, I'll update again when I find out what the deal is. No seriously... =)

/me sighs yet again

Ever have one of those days where you really feel like talking to someone, but all of those someones are asleep or otherwise indisposed of? Well I guess this is one of those times. Really explains my unusual quick update don't it? Anyways, the kid is out and about so I guess I have a moment to two to spare to update those that have happened by. I have a feeling it's gonna be one of those blogs...

So weddin stuff strikes in full force this weekend. Strikes the family. Strikes me. Strikes my wallet like a heavyweight champ. The place has been booked and the date is set, yet rather than being relieved that an important piece of the puzzle is finished, I feel like I've (or we've) touched off some kind of massive landslide. Of course, I get the "talk" about future finances and such- the expected parental spiel. But this particular spiel hits pretty hard. It's really nothing I didn't already know of or about, but it seems to have a big effect. Turns out a lot of people have got the undies in the proverbial twist, except for me, the center of concerns. Does that mean I'm footloose and fancy free? Hells no. I just see the punch coming before it hits. Maybe all those years of training paid off. heh.

Anyway, pockets aren't as deep as one would like, the money tree I planted out back isn't bearing fruits and the stupid lotto commission hasn't made me the first person to win without playing yet. YOU BASTARDS! So what's the plan? How am I going to counter this massive blow? I guess that's the million dollar question that everyone wants to know. So the answer? It's pretty simple, actually. I'm going to do what I always do. What I'm still doing. What I will probably do forever. Plan + revise + plan some more + revise some more = success. Well, success in a relative term. Sure the results won't always be exactly what I want, but it'll be as damn close as I can make it. When have I ever really failed?

So... anyone got a spare part time job that requires little effort, has a flexible schedule and pays the big bucks? =)

With that, let me just leave you with one of my many little mottos for this situation...

Just a minute

So I finally have a minute to update this thing. People keep asking what’s up. You know, the normal courtesies and stuff. What do I always say? Work, work and work. That’s pretty much it. Well, is it really? Yeah actually. Between getting my work done for GR the work done for GNE, I haven’t really had much time for other fun stuff. Still gotta wash the vehicles and stuff now that I think about it. I wish I could just be a lazyass and lounge around the house for a day with no worries. Ha! Like that will ever happen.

So I said I was gonna say more about the E3 trip- Geeks- goddang. It never fails to surprise me every year how many little Hollywood video guys manage to get in and block the aisleways standing in long lines to take pics of the Tecmo girls. I really should do a dork cam next year. Celeb sightings… hmm no real A-list people this year, so I’ve kinda forgot who was there- just Vin Diesel promoting his new game, the coors twins, X to the Z and some old ass porn guy that wasn’t Ron Jeremy. Flicks were weak. First up was Envy. Gotta be the worst flick since Gigli (just guessing since I never actually saw that crap). Not funny. Not even stupid funny. Just stupid. Next Troy. Boy did they screw that story up. If you’ve ever read the actual story, you’ll notice that it’s completely different. People that are supposed to die lived, people that are supposed to live die and the whole gods thing that is pretty much the point of Greek mythology is completely absent. Weak. After E3 there was Van Helsing. It had its moments, but due to some drawn out story sequences and blah blah blah, I almost fell asleep.

Just got back from the family trip. It was pretty nice, but a little rushed. Summarized with crayfishing and Texas Hold ‘em.

Still on the hunt for a kickass laptop so if y’alls see anything. Let me know.

And that’s all the time I have for today. To be continued sometime…

Made it back in one piece... i think

Finally back from the E3 madness. I swear, when you lose track of how many of these things you've been to and lose the excitement of it all, it's all the same. This year is the year of handhelds and naked chicks. The Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP are coming at the end of this year and early next (respectively) and both have failed to pique my interest. And representing the naked chicks are the official Playboy game and Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude. Uh... lonely, sweaty geeks everywhere are dancing in the streets. Anyway, I got a ton of stuff to write so I'll update later. Remind me to talk about more geeks, celeb sightings and the crapfest of a movie outing I had.

To Be Continued...

Bout freakin time eh?

So I've been a busy busy guy lately. What else is new? Work is kicking my butt, but at least I finally got a promotion. Guess that gives them a reason to say that 15hr days are a part of the job description.

Before I forget, let me tell a little story. The other day, I was watching "Quiz Kids" the local geek show with 2 teams of 3 kids representing local high schools. I sat through most of the show and like Jeopardy, I cound't get most of the questions. But lo and behold, the game comes to and end with a tie. The sudden death tiebreaker question is: What dog is commonly associated with firemen? Team 1's answer: Lab Retriever. What a dumbass. And Team 2 for the steal... St. Bernard. Good grief, do these kids get out? Next sudden death Q: What county is north of San Francisco across the Golden Gate? Now remember, this is a local show and all the kids go to school here. Answer? San Marin. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! Not accepted and the other team quizzically guesses Marin? for the win. Just goes to show you, the smarter you get, the dumber you are.

WHEEL...OF...ah forget it.

Ok, so turns out the wheel of fortune van was out in the area and yours truly got a chance to experience it first hand. I was a little excited at first, but my enthusiasm quickly turned to dust as I witnessed the lamest spectacle of recent memory. Seriously, it was obvious that the people around me dressed in shorts and sun gear had no idea that daly city is one of the fog capitals of the bay area. They came from far and wide just to look like idiots in front of a mall crowd in a parking lot. There was even one chick who came dressed as the wheel itself. Good grief.

It was mildly interesting to see some of these people on stage, but it quickly turned into 'wheel gone wild' with one of the contestants. So what are some of your hobbies? Skiing. Then the guy mentioned one of the local resorts which apparently was rough when you went the back way, but smooth up front. He likes to go down it a lot apparently. But enough of that... let's get to our f*** contestant!

Oh and did I mention how excited these people got over crap prizes? YOU can win a wheel of fortune water bottle! The crowd goes wild. Or how about... <dramatic pause>... a butt ugly wheel of fortune fanny pack! As the lady next to me fainted, I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Don't call my name, man. I will kill you until ure ded. Fearing this horrid act, I turned around and left.

Exciting day, don't you think?

Oh so tired

Happy Leap Year Day, folks!
If you haven't already noticed, work has been working me into the ground. How many weekends has it been now? I think I've lost count. Anyway, the miracle on DNA st. has been completed and I hope that it helps a lot of da peoples out there.

The rest of life is going as well as it can i guess. The past week's rain has kept me in the cage, but I guess I can't complain too much since not everyone is fortunate enough to have a cage like mine. Hopefully this coming week I'll be able to get back on 2 wheels and get some more exp.

And in other news , the fine people over at Ubisoft seem like they want to give me a job. Tomorrow's the big day, so we'll see if we can come to agreement for my services. That stuff ain't cheap ya kno?

Wheehoo!!!!

Man the weather has sucked the last few days, but finally, the sun is partly shining and the rain clouds (which are still there) aren't dumping anything overhead. It's been about 3/4 days since I last moto'd so I was a little apprehensive bout getting back on the Beast, but as soon as I was back in the saddle it all came back. So feeling good, I headed out into the real world for the first time. Yeah, baby -easy like Sunday morning. Maybe that's because lefts and rights are so much easier than spinnin U's for an hour.

Got my first taste of an idiot driver when a dude in a monster truck tried to turn into my lane even though he saw me coming. I hope I keep gaining enough exp points to deal with these crappy situations that come up.

I must be playing the cool guy part well enough because the kids I passed were yelling "Burn rubber!!" Yeah, right. I don't think I'll be burning any rubber any time soon. hehe.

In any case, today's 7+ miles flew by in a heartbeat. It's true what they say- the more you know the better it gets. Just gotta make sure I learn my limits and stick to them! Knowing me, it should be no problem.

Beast is getting really hungry, so I'll need to feed him soon enough. Another adventure is on the way!!!

Ride!!!!

The monster is finally in the garage and boy am i tired. Being the first day and all one would think that it would be pretty uneventful. Nope! Pulled the monster out of the garage without starting the engine and I'm already pulled over by the cops =)

Guess they were looking for that other dude with a blue bike zooming around the neighborhood. Me? Zoom? You've got to be kidding. Hey officer, just look at the way I'm moving. Does it look like I'm CAPABLE of zooming? hehe... well, not YET anyways. Must tame the beast first.

To be continued....eventually
